Just got done with removing the 2 tanks , pump , magnet , metal drive shaft. Plugged check valve area. I have the kit from mercury and I have a couple of questions.

1)Does the flat area of the plastic plug faces the internal gear or something that drives the metal one I took out?

2)Do I unook hook the warning module completely? or just unook the oil pump and the thing right above it from the module?

3) Do I still use my water seperator with pre mix now?

Thanks,
Damian

I haven't seen this 'kit' that you have, so I can't be sure about your 1st question. The cap or plug used to replace the oil pump must seal the opening, it is subjected to the crankcase pressure and vacuum pulses that occur as the motor runs.

Your warning module also handles the temp warning, it must stay connected. Besides unplugging the oil pump rotation sensor you must disconnect/remove the green wire that links the module to one of the ignition coils.

ALWAYS use a water separating filter.
