I have a 1988 Johnson 4 hp outboard and I am trying to locate a fuel tank for it. I,m looking for the optional removable "saddle" tank that hangs off the back of the motor underneath the powerhead. (OE part number 0396397) I believe the motor was called the Ultra 4.
Anyone know where I can find one for a reasonable price?

Do you have a picture of the tank that you need? May be able to help if you post a picture.

Good luck

Here's a picture from an Ultra 4 owner's manual. It shows the saddle tank mounted below the powerhead, hanging like a maple syrup bucket behind the midsection.

Re: 1988 Johnson 4 hp fuel tank

Thanks folks.
Yes indeed TN-25 that is the tank I'm looking for.
I use this motor as a kicker on my 16' aluminum bowrider, the main motor on the boat is a 1988 110 VRO which means I have to have an extra fuel tank (premixed) for the 4 hp. I would rather not have the extra tank inside the boat since I already have at least two 5 gallon tanks for the thirsty 110.
My local marina tells me the tank is no longer available and even if it was, the price was over $100 which would be hard to justify with the wife.
A reasonably priced used tank is what I'm looking for.
Thanks again.
