Searched forums and seems like 50/50 whether my question belongs here or in pontoon boats. So I'll start here. Boat is a beater mostly for fishing. No ski, swim but we do take morning runs 2 or 3 hours at times. Boat is a 28 foot 1983 Funtoon with all aluminum deck and a completely worn out ugly blue carpet with big rips in it (trip hazard). Deck (and whole boat for that matter)in excellent shape.
Boat is left in water uncovered from May to November.
Do I recover aluminum differently than wood decks ?
Any advice from group on carpet versus vinyl/rhino/etc. ??
I see in previous discussion threads there are strong feelings about carpet in fishing boats. Clean up issues, rot issues, barefoot comfort issues.
What say the group. Appreciate any info offered.

Mostly fishing..... I would go with a non slip surface like a bedliner.....
