I've got a 2004 Johnson 115hp 4 stroke outboard and I'm not sure how much oil it needs. Kind of a dumb question, I know. Thanks

I do not know, but it should say in your owner's manual. If not, when you drain yours, drain it into a suitable measuring container...that'll tell you!

That's why they put dipsticks on four stroke engines. Drain the oil, change the filter, add a couple quarts and check the dipstick. Add more (a little at a time) until it shows full. Start the engine (on muffs) and then shut down and recheck. The oil filter will have to filled so you will have to add an amount equal to the capacity of the oil filter. The dipstick is your friend here.
