Don't know if you have it fixed or not, but this is a very common problem to all 4 stroke motors. The thermostadt is stuck open.

How does a thermostat let oil into the engine? (Im assuming moisture gets in the oil and if the engine doesn't hear up enough, the water does not burn off???)

i am not sure if the thermostat is the problem or not, but if so, how would the water "warm up and burn off?" if that was the case all your oil would have burnt up and be missing, correct me if i am wrong. sounds like baitsauce knows this issue

Still waiting for my new thermostat to arrive. Ordered it online from boats.net
who I have had good service from previously.
I ordered the part around 3/25. Mercury keeps pushing up the delivery date.

what's a person supposed to do when the maufacturer can't supply the replacement parts in a reasonable time?
(Im starting a new thread; No more merc's for me!
