I may be dumb but I ain't stupid. I winterized in fall 2007 and never got a chance to take her out last year. I have about 1/2 tank(10gal) fuel thats sat in the tank for 2 Iowa winters now(used stabil). I'm not sure if I should use this gas. Anyone know if there is an additive for this? I tried to siphon with my little drill powered pump but no can do. Fill hose is too long to the tank. How else can I drain the gas. Its a 94 Caravelle w/a Alpha 1 merc. Thanks for input.

Re: older gas

Well i drained one with a hand pump from Walmart with a longer hose added to it.

I have also hooked a longer hose to the fuel line coming from the tank and routed it out the bilge drain into a gas can.Tape off the fuel tank vent, and wrap a rag around my air hose to make a tight seal at the fuel fill cap and push some compressed air in the tank to get the siphon action started.

Or remove the fuel gauge sender and suck it out that way.....:)

Yup, take the sender out and use a rotary pump for gasoline, like this:

I usually put old gas in my truck. Never had any problem. Some guys like to run old boat gas thru their lawnmowers "for disposal".
