HIN number

i bought a 1978 14' jon boat and the only number i can find is a serial number and it is 11 numbers and letters long is this the same as the HIN number

HIN should be located usually on the rear of the boat and sometimes on side near the boat i know the boat i am looking @ has 2. HIN is a 12 digit number though. good luck!

thanks.anyone else ever hear of a 1978 sears jon boat having just a serial number

78 and above, I believe it was law that they had to have a Hull ID # as i recall. Your serial # should be the hull ID.
