Anyone have any reviews of their Hurricane 195 OB or NauticStar 205 OB? I'm looking to purchase a new one soon and not sure which model to go with. Also, if you have one of these and a 115 Yamaha, is it a goo dmatch to the boat or underpowered?

Thanks~

I have no input on either boats but I would think you'd definitely want to up the HP to 150. After all isn't one of the main points of a deck boat to be able to load it up with a bunch of people? I think a 115 would be really working pushing a 20' boat around with a bunch of passengers.

Re: Hurricane or NauticStar?

I just bought my first boat ever about 6 weeks ago, and I chose a 2003 Hurricane 237. I really can't comment on NauticStar since my boat knowledge isn't very extensive, but I can say that I am very happy with my Hurricane. It runs well, handles the ocean very well (given the shallow V hull), and overall has a nice build quality to it all.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll lean towards a Hurricane and definately go with the 150 HP. I've also heard from others that the base 115 HP does work hard to get and stay on plane with several people on board.

Thanks!

I bought a NauticStar last year. It is a 232 DC which is an I/O. So far no complaints. I've not heard anything bad about either company though.
