I am not new to boating or trailers but my dad was given a 26 foot boat with an inboard motor that is brand new it just needs to be put in but it doesn't have a trailer my dad doesn't want it but i do. But i have no way of getting it and i really don't have alot of money to spend on it whats the best way should i buy a trailer or get someone to tow it for me? how much would a trailer cost for this boat. Its the kind with like beds and a kitchen and outriggers.

The first question you should ask yourself is IF you did have a suitable trailer, "Would any of my vehicles be suitable to tow it?". If the answer is yes, then the trailer is next issue. You have four options: 1) buy new, 2) buy used, 3) rent, 4) borrow a trailer, and there is a fifth but since you said you don't have much money, having a transport firm move it for you appears to be out of the question.

This time of year on craigslist there are several people who will tow your boat for you some even have trailers.

you were given a boat? IF you get a trailer it would probably be over 2500 new. used trailers are usually hard to find

Welcome to iboats. You didn't say where you are. I just checked craigs list and there are trailers in our area listed for sale. Expect to pay $1,000-$1400 for a good used trailer big enough to haul that 26 footer.

As stated, very hard to find used.

I have a trailer for all our boats. I don't like to have to wait around for help when I need to pull out the boat for maintenance.

In the winter I can pop the boats in the garage and move around etc.

Look on Ebay, you can usually find trailers on there. If you plan on owning a boat, unless you live on the water and even then occasionally, you're gonna need the use of a trailer.

I had a very hard time finding a quality used trailer locally. I won one on Ebay, and drove 375 miles each way to get it.
