i have a 1979 johnson 115 that will not start, it has good fire and compression. it was running and then one day i had it running for 15-20 mins and it died, boat mechanic dharged me arm and leg and said he fixed it but when i got it home went to start it on the hose and it would not start, checked the fire and compression again and all was good. acts like not getting fuel, sprayed with ether and still wouldnt start. any feedback would help. thank yall

Are the plugs getting wet when you turn it over? Have you ever had a carb rebuild and clean? Does it have a laynard on the key switch, if this was off it would keep it from starting>

Well if the plugs are not showing signs of fuel getting to them, is the primer bulb pumping up? Can you hear fuel filling in the carb bowls? What happens if you continue to choke it, will it fire then?
