Hello all, I just got a 24 volt trolling motor and it says to use a 50 amp manual reset circuit breaker in it. My question, which is probably really stupid is if I use an in-line fuse do i put it in-line with the neg or the pos. Thank you
Just for your general information on your next electrical project, you never put anything in line with the negative lead of any device. Fuses, breakers, and switches always go in the positive lead.

There are exceptions and if one examined automotive electrics you would see lots of switching in the ground circuit. But for boat accessories such as are generally discussed here, no fuses, switches or breakers in the ground lead. Will it work in the ground side? Certainly. Just don't develop a serious short in the positive side of the circuit as the breaker or switch won't do you much good.
