I have a mercury 75hp 80's I think. When I turn over the engine it makes a clicking noise and it does it when I try to raise and lower the motor. I am wondering if anyone has any idea. I was thinking it was a bad battery and I hooked it up to a charger to jump start it and it still made the clicking noise. Please help...

You have a fault in the wiring from the battery to the engine, Kelly.

Take all of those big wirers off, inspect them for weak spots, clean them and reinstall.

The worst offender is the battery ground cable where it bolts to the engine block.

Thanks... When I arch the silenoids it will turn over and the hydarulics will go up and down... do you think it's the wires....
