White Vinyl Seats No Longer- Any Sugggestions?

Does anyone have suggestions on how to recondition White Vinyl seats so they appear white once again, without ruining the integrity of the seats? I have a one year old boat with White Vinyl seats, however, there is ground in dirt in the seams and in the texture of the seats, not to mention a yellowing hue about them.

I am very particular about my seats being clean AND white. I am not giving up hope that they can be that way again.

THANKS

Third door down the hall is the i-Boats store. They will no doubt have a host of vinyl cleaning products.
If they stock one called Starbrite Vinyl cleaner and polish, it really works well.
Use a toothbrush (a retired one) for seams and nooks/crannies.

Thanks Much. Starbrite and WestMarine vinyl cleaner has been working along with the toothbrush. Maybe it will take a few cleanings over the next couple of weeks. I can not get the yellowish-gray tone out though. I do not want to go the bleach route.

Re: White Vinyl Seats No Longer- Any Sugggestions?

I used some clothes spot remover my wife had in the laundry room (Shacklee Basic-I, Shout, something like that...) on my white vinyl seats and they came out perfect. I poured some of the spot remover in a bucket with just a touch of water, wiped it on the vinyl with a rag, scrubbed it a bit with a plastic scrub brush and then rinsed it odd really good. A few area's I had to clean twice as it came out streaky,,, I didn't scrub it enough.

I actually got the idea when I was using the stuff diluted to clean the interior and accidentally dropped some of the straight spot remover on the dingy white vinyl ,,, Hey now, that came out perfectly clean, almost like I bleached it ;)

I'd test an inconspicuous area first (not the middle of the seat like I did) as the vinyl in my boat was 3-4 years old and not in the best of condition to start with.

Mr Clean Magic Erasers!! They have a slight abrasiveness that removes surface stains. Just keep the pressure light as needed.

I used a Mr. Clean magic eraser and some 409...worked like a charm.
