what rule am i breaking? i used search and couldnt find what i was looking for.
or maybe i did and didnt under stand what the parts were called. if i was a tech. i probably wouldnt need help.

What is the year, model #, serial #, # of cylinders, 2 or 4 cycle? More info for the techs to rely on. Pictures can help but may not be necessary. State what you?re trying to accomplish and why you think it?s broken.

1982 (i think) serial# 6149979, 4 cylinder. i was wondering if there was a spring in the end of the prop shaft to help hold the berring to the shifting cam??

It looks like there is a spring at the end of the shaft. I have no personal knowledge of this gear housing, but here is a link to the diagram and rebuild kit. I think the part # for the spring will be 24-39845. It is #41A on the diagram part list.

i looked at that yesterday and now and still dont see 41A on the picture.
