50 hp thunderbolt mercury 70s runs funny

when i take my boat out at the beging of the year it runs great.i can troll all day with it with out it dieing.next time i take it out it bogs out a bit. and the next time it gets worse .and so on and so on.im lost i dont no what to do.can any one help please or some ideas.

oh and my water is not coming out the engin when i start it.could it be pluged or is the water pump broke.

in regards to the first question - by bogging do mean you can crank the throttle and get very little speed ? when its running on the muffs does make an angry pop ( like it should) or is it a tame noise from the exhaust ?


quetsion 2 - 45/50hp and alike dont pee for about up to 10 seconds - it does that for quick warm ups some have poppets or thermostats and some run by pressure - the water is still cooling it -however if the tell tale isn't working at all even at idle i'd suspect impeller but first see if the tube is clogged

no it only wants to die when im at a trolling speed,when im fishing and for the water pump i took it apart today. one of the propellers was broke.but my problem now is what year it is so i can get a kit for it.the only number i got is 1626-3927 from inside the leg. is there another number some where else. oh ya if it is pluged whats a good way to unplug it.
