Chris Craft/Volvo 280

My 1977 outdrive has Chris Craft on the gimbal, but its actually a Volvo 280. The exhaust manifolds say Marine Power, but parts are under Chris Craft.

I'm not happy with these manifolds. They seem to run hot even when I first put them on a couple of years ago during my restoration of the transom. I took them off to check for rust and obstructions. Found none. The risers run cool. I'm not sure exactly how the water flows through the log style manifold, but it appears to run only the engine water through them which runs at 160*F.

I would like to upgrade to a better newer style. Not sure what to start looking for, or if I should just replace the manifolds. Just thinking if I did, I would still have the same problem. Any thoughts????? Thanks.........SS

The Chevy 350 I think its called the AQ125?

You might want to go find some serious model numbers or some pictures of your setup.
An AQ125 is a Volvo 4 cylinder engine, not a 350.

Sorry Don, It has been a long time since I've actually done anything to this. I searched my files for pics of it. They were on my other computer when it crashed. I thought I had some in Photobucket, but the one didn't show much. I'll head down to the lake tomorrow evening and take some pics of it. Thanks so much Don. I do have a manual, just can't locate it right now. Its is probably with the one for my bucket truck that I've been looking for

The log type is on the first page and the riser is on the second. Not sure if this helps.
