Re: what is the right pitch

First read the stickies at the top of the page and the helps at the top of the iboats prop store page.
Look on the barrel of the prop or under the nut for the prop number.
More detail on the boat, size, weight?
make a run tell us the max rpm and speed.

i have made several runs, i don't have a rpm gauge so i can't say what the rpm's are, but the boat is a 1975 ranger bass boat, 14'4 long and weighs about 800 lbs

Is your motor tuned and running properly?

We cannot possibly help you unless you provide some baseline data as indicated in the READ THIS FIRST sticky. This is exactly why they make tachometers. If you don't have one, the next step in determining what to do is install one. Without it you have no idea what RPM the engine is running.
