I just got done installing a transom remote for my head unit. So I can hang out by the swim platform and adjust the radio from the water. Scary part was cutting the 2" hole through the transom to install it. Thought for a second I may destroy my gelcoat or end up with an "extra" engine vent, lol. Fortunately all went well and the remote works great. ....just gotta warm up now so I can use it.

Re: Scary Install

Now that you drilled the first hole, next time it won't be so hard ;)

Hope you enjoy it!

Re: Scary Install

I installed a perfect pass a couple years back, a 2 " hole below water line is tougher still. The next week helped a buddy do it on a brand new 60k wakeboard boat. :)

You think thats bad try drilling out a 2" hole in the foot of your brand new motor to get a louder exaust. When i was 17 i owned a falcon and had a 40 hp evenrude on the back. We used to race them. I hade a jackplate, hotfoot, seat was offset to the far back right corner soi could brace myself, had a custom made steering console, shaved the ridges on the transom bottom, routed a hose from the low water pickup to the bottom of the boat because a lot of times during takeoff the foot would come out of the water. heck the whole boat would jump out of the water if i layed on it full throttle at start. i also filled the head in a little to get a higher compression, shaved the flywheel. man those were the days. Anyway went way off course with that but I was pretty shakey that first hole.
