I've got a 1973 40 hp evinrude selectric shift-----Its runs good at half throtte but when I go to full throtte its lock up so hard its kick the motor out of the water.--- Can someone tell me whats wrong. -----thanks
I want to thank you for your help---that was my problem it was jumping into reverse.---The wiring was bad---I rewired the motor and its works fine now.
Glad it's fixed. The "kicking the motor up out of the water" was the hint. The only thing that causes that is putting it in reverse, or hitting something.
