I got some good numbers on my boat the other night. 2000 crestliner sportfish 2050 4.3 mercruiser 1.81 alpha 1 gen 2 wot 4400-4800 rpm.

I had her loaded with what would be my max load, full gas, 4 adults 2 children, all fishing gear i have (boxes, rods, mast, board,riggers...).

My current set up is 21 pitch merc blackmax prop, 4600 rpm wot, 41mph on gps.

Needed to trim outdrive to get on plane, if not just cavitated at 15mph.

I want to go to 4 blade stainless so...
1. 19 pitch, or 20 pitch i would like to stay in the upper 200 rpm of my range.

2. Bay Pro 2 (i think this is only available in 20 pitch) or HR Titan 4, or fill in your own

Let me know which pitch, and prop, and your expected rpm on my motor. Thanks

If you're going to SS, AND a 4 blade prop, that's normally 2 steps back in pitch, meaning drop to a 17" pitch 4 blade prop, but, if you think you can spin it, then go with a 19" pitch SS,,, not a 20". That's my inexpert opinion.

The Bay Pro II would be a nice choice, they're made for outdrives and outboards running rather deep. They come in even numbers from 16 to 22. Seems like a 20 would be a good choice in your case.

So drop 1 now your @ a 4800....switch to ss in a 20 puts you at a 4600...lose a 100 for the 4th blade..your at 4500....Using 18p Baypro youd climb to 4900..In a Solas your probably ok with a 19...Baypro's have tremendous lift and mid range tourqe all due the cupping..In fact you can get slip numbers as low as 4-6% from a I/0 ..when in reality that cant happen.

Tail Gunner, I would buy the baypro but i am not sure i would like The rpm of the 18 pitch. Whats your thought of the Solas? I know it isnt a baypro but how does it run?

The Solas is a very good prop and in the end either will make you smile..This is just a opinion...Baypro's have quite a bit of lift in them...Your midrange response is outstanding with very little top end loss if any. A 18p 4 blade will behave or perform like a 19p 3 blade ss...Remeber by propping to 4900 you will increase your boat performance from 0-30 quite a bit...there will be less engine strain... quicker hole shot...lower planeing speed's and a noticeable smoother overall feel to the boat..

Now as to top overall speed you may lose 1-2 mph at best...and most boater's spend little time at WOT and 90% of there time @40 or less..;)

Sometimes i get a little to focused on a issue...Sok Mike..:p Stay with the HR series just a wag..19p..The Rubbex appear's to be a old saturn..Aka the loss or HR..High Rake making it a big eared pusher..Call i-boat's and clarify that...Or maybe Walleyedhed might make a apperance..
