I have a 1999 glastron 175 sx, well i just got it and now found out that it needs a new head, unless the block is cracked as well. I hope that its just the head. Do you have any ideas where to buy a head for the volvo 3.0, and how much that might set me back?

I wanted to make this boat faster as well, considering it is only 135 hp, have any ideas, any small easy things to maybe a super charger? I need some recommendations and links to sites where i can find good deals on these products. I think a super charger could help out some on the hp?

If i find out that the block is cracked as well, i will be looking for a new motor i think, but how large of motor will fit in the 175 sx? can i get a v8 in there?

what should i do, fix the motor i have, fix it and super charge it, or just put a larger motor in it and why. i need help here. thank you!

you seem to be on a budget i am sure as we all are. are you looking for a new, reman, or used head? you can change the engine to a larger one if you wanted, anything is possible. money, time, patience, and more money. it is always cheaper to buy the boat with the engine you want. but people on this site will flame you for asking about it. stick with what you have, for now. fix it, sell it and upgrade.

:D Ayuh!....
If he wanted a speed boat he should have done some research and bought one with a big motor! Geeze!

To the OP,Yea,you can put a V-8 in it after reworking the stringers to support the weight. Then buy a new drive that matches a 8 cylinder motor..
Cheaper to buy a new boat!

cguth...you are welcome to continue to NOT post..

You're perception is the problem here.
Instead of researching (lazy), ask the same question that's been asked since the board started.
"I don't want to hear the truth, I want to hear what will make me feel better!"
The response was neither rude or sarcastic.
Grow up.
One other thing, I doubt if any hugs will be offered here!

I had a 1995 Glastron 175 with a 3.0 litre Mercruiser Motor. I replaced the motor with a Panther 4.3 litre with a 4 Barrel Carb. The boat had all the speed and power that a boat that size could handle. It was great.
