Hello All I Have A Question,where Does The Water Suppose To Flow Out On This Motor,have Not Had It Running For A Couple Of Years .it Does Run Good But Is There Suppose To Be Water Coming Out Or Maybe Water Pump Is Bad? Or Does It Flow From The Prop.

If it really is a 1968, there is a big hole in the rear of the midsection, below the powerhead. Water blows out that hole along with some exhaust any time the motor is running. It will blow more water when the thermostat is open, but should never be no water discharge at all.

That is only an indicator. Most of the water and exhaust out out undewater, above & rear of the prop.

FYI, when it is running and the thermostat is closed, the water is directed back to the water pump for recirculation till it gets warm enough to open the thermostat. But as I said up above, even if the 'stat is closed, some water bypasses the thermostat and will blow out.

Thanks For Your Help.we Took It Apart And It Looks Like The Water Pump Is Worn. And Some Of The Hoses Could Be Replaced.just Hope It Is Worth Putting Money Into.

I had one of those engines's. We used it to water ski when our son's were growing up. That engine had to hold the recorrd for fuel consumption. It ran great all the while I had it, but JEEZ.
