Hi all, i have a 1984 Chrysler 75Hp Outboard Model 756H4L, it is on a 1985 17 Foot Critchfield Center Console Hull. there is no Tach on the vessel so RPM's are unknow right now. there are no markings on my prop with the exception of "523-17" do these mean anything to anyone? i measured the prop and it measures 6.5" from center of shaft to outside edge of blade so in my mind that would make this a 13" diameter. sorry for the lack of information but i dont have any more available to me right now. thanks

Re: Unknown Stamp

That should be a 17" pitch. How does the performance seem to be.
Any mph figures?Hole shot? I'm no chrysler expert but a 17 should be in the ball park. "in the ballpark" is not good prop talk. You should be able to get a tinytach for your motor.reasonable, easy to install. a gps for speed is excellent.

Re: Unknown Stamp

Those props were made by Michigan. The 523 may be a Chrysler number but it indicates both prop style and size. The 17 is actually superfluous. I suppose it is there for ease of ID.

In this case the 523 indicates 13 3/8 X 17 pitch. 525 would indicate a 13 3/8 X 19 pitch prop. ALL Chrysler props had a three number identification with the three number series being different for aluminum, stainless, and racing props. Sometimes the numbers were between the blades and sometimes inside the hub under the prop nut washer.

You will not be able to find that prop new, but you may pick one up over at The Chrysler Crew. You can, however, use any Michigan prop identified as used on Force 75-125 up to about 1990. The Michigan props are open hub, through hub exhaust props but will work on your engine with no different performance.
