Impeller help needed

I'm new to the forum but need some help. I just bought a 1996 5 hp Force and it needs an impeller #47-F521065-1. That impeller is only made by Mercury and costs $74 dollars. After picking myself up from the sticker shock I wondered if anybody has figured out if another impeller, that does not cost so much, would fit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try chrysler as well. Force was made by both Mercury and Chrysler in different years. I'm not sure exactly which. You may have to suck it up and pay because impellars are not universal.

That is probably for a pump kit.It includes the housing.
There is a lot of aftermarket products.Try West Marine or any online sites like iboats.J

I checked 3 online Merc dealers, all 3 show the impeller for the 1996 model as NLA.

Is your motor a 1996?
Is the serial number between OE127700 - OE202999 ?

THe part number you gave is for the 1988 - 1995 models.

I only found the complete water pump kit available for your motor, at $130.
