I have a 50 johnson that used to start up everytime but now, i turn the key and nothing happens, i dont kno what happened. After about ten minutes of trying it cranked up, then i turned it off and tried it again and nothing happened again. I can still pull crank it, but i dont kno what happened. Im not sure if its the starter in the key house or the wiring or the solenoid or what. Can some one help me out?

Thanks,
Kyle

Most of the time it is in the starter wiring from the battery, Kyle. Take all of those connections off (no matter how tight they are or how good they look) and clean the cable ends and the terminals.

Worst offender is the battery ground to engine block connection.

Let us know what you find.

Remove and clean all connections starting at the battery. Apply some dialectric grease.

turn key nothing? near the solenoid is a red inline fuse holder with a special 20 amp fuse. 99% it is blown.

unplug the big red plug. now jump from the incoming pos post on solenoid to the small post next to it. if wired correctly it should activate starter. if not try the other small post. if nothing from either post bad solenoid.
