1989 60hp mercury need help from old merc man

i have a 89 60 hp 3cyl long shaft mercury with a prop i want to convert to a jet drive the drive is a p-drive which i was told is no longer avaviable also told a e-drive will bolt up & preform well
the p-drive is a large drive the e- drive is a medium drive need help from & old merc man

Just wondering.How does a jet play in with wot rpm?Or does it?

You adjust the impeller clearance to the jet pump housing (throat) by moving shims from one side of the impeller to the other, thus moving the impeller closer or farther from the throat, increasing or decreasing slip, and you dial in the RPM exactly where the factory wants that motor to run.

Need a BIG tank and/or trips out on the water.
