Re: Bite Your Tongue
This is a forum and therefore any member is able to chip in with their thoughts. Any information and advice given needs to be carefully digested by the original poster before acting on it. The members here do a lot of reading of each others post's just like you are doing now and if someone completely disagrees with it they can post to that effect. The mod's do an amazing job of editing, closing, deleting and commenting on posts and threads when known bad or misleading information is given.
Everyone makes mistakes as stated already and there are enough people out here to help correct them.
Just my opinion though !!!
No sense in getting defensive you have taken the original post and gone completely astray with it.
My question was and still is,
Do any of you ever read any of the replies and bite your tongue and think Geeezus I'm glad he's not working on my boat?
A simple Yes or No answer would suffice.
Since you failed or refused to answer the inquiry and Instead you take it as an invitation to an argument and something that needs defending. No more of your input is required.
I should have made a poll so that some of the people with lower reading comprehension skills could understand that it was a simple question.
i know i have made mistakes and been nicely corrected, i have also made typo errors, that completely change the meaning of what i was trying to say.
when i mess up, i want some one to correct it, and i usually thank them. you do not get as many post as i have with out unintentional mistakes.
First off, Post counts don't impress me. A exceedingly high one as in 41k post in 3.5 years is a slight indication of someone that waste too much time on the computer. Do you actually take your boat out or do you sit there and type on the keyboard while looking at it through the window?
Ever occasionally take the laptop out there and sit in it making motor noises with your lips while working on your post count?

Just add a fan and a leaky water hose and it'll almost be like you're really on the water.
You being a moderator I would have assumed (yes I know) that you would have been sharp enough to understand a simple Yes or No question and responded accordingly.
But no you jump on the wrongway bandwagon too.
Should have made a poll. Even the moderators don't understand a simple Yes/No question.
name calling, etc are not allowed. a polite correction is.
Quote from the Forum Guidelines:
4 - Free speech is not an excuse for irresponsible behavior. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases.
5 - PERSONAL ATTACKS - No slandering another iboater (calling names, personal attacks). It is ok to respectfully disagree with a person, but it is not ok to personally attack. Any person placing offensive, obscene, abusive or derogatory posts on the board will be penalized appropriately.
6 - THREAD ALTERCATIONS - Differences of opinion will occur from time to time and this is understood. Threads that generate into fights between posters will be locked. Depending upon the nature of the thread, it may also be deleted and upon request, the original poster will be informed of the reason. It is not the job of the moderators to settle disputes between members.
Oooooo Rules. Yes I have read these. You're assuming I haven't?
I'm being nice in my replies and despite a couple of great opportunities I haven't torn anyone a new one, so obviously I have read and follow these to the best of my tongue biting ability.
You felt the need to post them, why?
Take your time. I'm going boating.
There are a few things I'll never ask.
One, How to fix my boat. There's nothing I can't do where pleasure boats are concerned.
Two. How to fix my computer. I am a Computer God.
Three. Permission to go to the lake. Don't need permission I am the boss.
I'm out.
