Night boating? Lights . . . Safe boating? Working Bilge Pump and Blower. Skier flag for the Tubing is required, at least it is in most states. Observer too.

boat registration... is one thing you missed.

I think you everything else covered..

as long as there are 6 people or less on your boat!! ie...you need a life vest for each person on board.

if at night you need a bi colored bow light mounted so the green is on the right and the red shows to the left and you need an achor light that can be seen above the outboard motor.

my NY state congressman used to send me the boating laws every year... he must hav ebeen a boating nut...( he sent them to everyone i imagine)

You also need in NY 3 unexpired marine flares, a whistle or air horn and a distress flag and I think at least 1 oar.

keep in mind your legal capacity is the number of people in AND behind your boat. 4 people in the boat + 2 on a tube behind is your legal max.

EDUCATION!

Do you know the rules of the road? Do you know how to protect yourself, your passengers and all the other boaters out there from your newbie-ness? :)

PLEASE go to USPS.org, get in touch with your local Power Squadron chapter, and take a safe boating class. As the operator of a boat you have a legal and moral responsibility to know the basics.

Be safe and have fun.
