OK so what do you guys reccomend for cleaning the seats ?? And the other interior surffaces in the boat ? Then what do you use to protect them ? Armorall ?
I just got a nice older boat and want to keep it looking new.

Also do you scrub the out side and wax your boats ? If so what products do you use ?

Im in northern wisconsin for those who need to know.

Personally, I like Simple Green for the interior. I am not a fan of Armorall because it is greasy and slippery..ouch that could hurt.

I am sure others will chime in but wax and cleaners, etc. is as personal to the person as what beer they drink!

Less time cleaning and more time boating!!

Recently, I've been using Meguiars Marine Vinyl cleaner and protectant. It cleans very well, but does leave a residue similar to Aromorall.

This may sound goofy, but I've had really good luck using baby wipes - the kind that you use on their hands, not their butts. Target sells them impregnated with a citrus-based cleaning agent. They're cheap, too.

For carpet, I like Bac-Out (also available at Target). It's environmentally friendly and will get out the toughest stains.

For the outside, I just use Meguiars car wash and Meguiars Carnuba wax.

Inside we use either the baby wipes or for more serious work like after a whole weekend on the water. We use the clorox clean up wipes. If that doesnt wprk then switch to like 409 or some other clean up product.
I have given up on the carpet. We are just hoping it makes it one more season and then in the winter the deck is going to get redone (I Hope)

As far as the outside goes I use 4 seasons carnuba wax. and 3m wash
Happy boating

This sounds kinda cheap, and I swear I'm not cheap, but. . .

I use "LA's Totally Awesome" cleaner on the interior, both vinyl and hard surfaces. It comes in a spray bottle at the dollar store, and is the best cleaner I've ever used. I also use low-shine Armor All, but I hate using it on the seat surfaces. They get a little slimy.

Exterior, a pre-season scrubbing with Star Brite, followed by a couple coats of Nu-Finish. Yes, the $7 infomercial car polish. It works great, restores the shine to gelcoat, and even bird crap rolls right off.

That's my $10 cleaning supply shopping list!

I use fantastik for cleaning vinyl, 303 or Maguires for protecting it. Hull is Babes Boat Brite for the quick cleaning right off the water and the standard brush and bucket followed with spray on wet wax/wipe once per month and a true waxing mid season and end season. Carpet gets pulled at the end of the season and cleaned then protected with scotchguard.

We have "exceptional drought" water restriction so we can't wash anything. Its killing me to put her away with just a wipe down.
