Evinrude 2000 15 4 stroke-loosing power

I have an Evinrude 4 stroke, 2000 which starts fine, travels ok for 15 mins at full throttle but then dies -when I take off cover she will start again, motor away but die gain after another 5 minutes. I think it;s a heat sensor issue but wonder has anyone else experienced similar symptoms?

die again with the cover on or off?

If its with the cover on, you probably have an exhaust leak choking the engine out. Look at exhaust gaskets or exhaust covers, maybe run a bit of seafoam to increase visibility of a leak, it'll smoke like a cowboy.
