Tahoe Boating Question

Hello everyone,

I have a special situation I need some guidance with.

I plan to ask my girlfriend to marry me this summer.

We just got a boat last month, and I think it would be awesome to propose on Lake Tahoe on our boat at sunset.

Here are my questions:

1) is there a hotel anywhere on lake Tahoe that has boat slips for their guests to use?

2) For those that know Tahoe well, what is the nicest, calm cove or other area that would be good to anchor in and watch the sunset?

I have never boated on Tahoe before so and advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Re: Tahoe Boating Question

Hi, I've fished/boated on Tahoe many times but don't think there are very many if any boat accomodations at the hotels. There are lots of condominiums for rent especially on the South shore that have their own dock. The South shore is also very close to Emerald Bay which is most scenic spot on the lake especially by boat. There is some sort of cool old castle kinda deal there that has tours etc ...as well as a boat in campground. You may be able to boat in there and get married. Its a beautiful spot. I think the sunsets are going to be a little dissapointing since the West shore is surrounded by mountains and the sun goes down early. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I can tell you Cal/Neva lodge in North Shore is all about weddings and spectacular views. It used to belong to Frank Sinatra and it shows.

Best Wishes

Somehow my original reply disappeared. I'll try again. Your best bet is the Tahoe Keys resort and their rental condos--in South Lake Tahoe CA, about five miles from the casinos. Slips are a few steps from the condos. we have stayed there many times. Not sure that there are any units less than 2BR. Check their website,
