inline 6 was turning over and firing fine last week, did have gas in fuel mix, but different story, tring to figure out why nothing is happening with it now. turn the key and nothing, no click just dead silence. battery is charged ohms 12.50 or higher, jumped large post on solinode, and it will turn over then, so figures it went bad, bought new solinode, hooked it up all snug and tight and nothing, yep even remembered to plug boat wires in to wires from motor. any ideas?? what to do besides sink it!!

check for power at ignition switch. Should be a fuse in ignition circuit red wire from solenoid to ignition switch.

There was no OEM fuse on those motors. Make sure control is in neutral. Check ign switch operation. You need power on white wire for motor to run and power on yellow wire for motor to crank.

Don't assume your battery connections are good. They have been known to cause a lot of grief. Disconnect them from the battery , clean them well, then re-install them. If it has wing-nuts toss them out.

Other likely candidates are the tilt switch, neutral switch, or the ignition switch itself as other have mentioned.

if battery connections where not good you couldn't jump solinode and it work, cause the battery would not be making connections any where.

strange and werid i fixed it for now, the key was the promblem but i didn't have to do anything, just took back cover off of control panel tryied to turn it over and it was spinning like never before. but it back together and dead again. took it bad apart, and re put it back together. and it works. i did check the switch while it was apart and every thing checked good, so still really don't know what was wrong.
