Overheated when lower unit impeller crumbled while boating
Nephew says alarm sounded and motor stopped a few minutes later. Guessing it overheated.
Replaced the impeller - motor turns over but may be dragging/binding - don't see water in oil. What should i be looking for?
Any troubleshooting tips?

Did it disel any? Will it start and actually run? If the engine runs but when you try to put it into gear the enigine stalls that would sound like a seized outdrive.

Just my .02 cents.

Motor won't turn over with a seized outdrive. Everything is spinning in neutral except the prop shaft.
Check the compression and report back. My wife drove our Buick about 15 minutes after the water pump pulley sheared off and the engine was fine, but it still had coolant in the block.
