I have a 1976 duranautic offshore 16 . Was told rated for 60 hp but I have acess to a 1977 70 hp to replace my blown up 50 hp. Do you think it is ok to put this motor on this boat?? THe deal is too good to pass up on them motor. Please help as I would like to purchase the motor tomorrow. I attatched picture of boat it is fairly heavy and pretty stable when running thru rough water. It also has a welded hull and a pretty strong transom. thanks

Re: ok motor size???

If your willing to endanger yourself and anyone else that rides with you AND you don't mind paying fines AND paddeling your boat back in because the "locals" are floating next to you making sure your not running a larger motor than you boats rated for then maybe. I' m not in law enforcement but my cousin that is had the same thought as you. He found out the hard way. That the Missouri DNR takes the Coast Gaurd ratings seriously. Good Luck:)

BTY Nice look'n boat
