There's you problem, you're stressing your prop too much by pushing your boat through the water witth the trailer attached. Remove your boat from the trailer first, and your drag through the water will drop markedly.

Re: do props loose their pitch?

props can eventually start to slip under load...because of the way they are attached to the hub.

plus if your boat sat all winter uncovered..maybe your foam floatation is absorbing water.....thus adding WEIGHT you dont know of.

if you know it is 7200 lbs on the trailer...then go weigh it again and see if it is heavier.

make sure your trim is set right too....

good luck

My boats get TLC, double covered, went to the prop rebuilder today with the old prop, talked about my problem, he will rebuild mine, didn't have a replacement loaner but gave me a 15 pitch to try. tomorrow is forecasted thunderstorms so Friday it is. goal is to see if I can get 4600 rpm with it.

boat gets out of the hole much faster, and tops out at max speed of 30 mph w/o wot, at 5k rpm, wot is over 6000 rpm fuel economy did not seem to change, will run again tomorrow.
