1997 Johnson V6 150hp motor problems-stalling

After it has been running for a bit, it starts spitting and sputtering...idling rough and when in lower rpm mode, will shut off. It will restart, but it's still rough. Runs great at high speeds. Checked the bulb..it's not caving in...checked fuel lines and ended up putting new fuel line and bulb on it to be on the safe side. It has not helped. Can anyone give me some ideas on what the problem could be? Thank you.....

start with the basics, compression and spark check with tester on all cylinders, use a spark tester, $10 any auto parts store. record your finding, and report back here. read this http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=299680

I have a 1997 Johnson 150 Faststrike.Its runs great at every speed.When at idle it stalls.I can hook up the water hose to it and it runs all day. I have all kinds of problems while i load the boat.It seams the warmer it gets the more it stalls HELP?????????

Sounds like dirty or misadjusted carbs. Recommend cleaning and adjusting of idle mixture.
