Can anybody help me make the right decision here.

I recently got a great deal on a 23' fishing boat equiped with 2 aq 130s and penta outdrives. The engines have been kept clean and were not exposed to the elements while in storage for 5 years! According to the owner one of the engines had been rebuilt prior to storage. My question is: would it be better to pull the engines out and do an overhaul, or part out the engines and outdrives and invest in a solid outboard and make the conversion? What will be more of a headache? Any opinion will help me, thank you all. Boat-on

If they run, why spend more money?

What makes you think the motors require either rebuilding or replacement?

Oh - welcome to the forum :). When you ask a question and then come up with solutions, you'll find that people want to know the reasoning behind a solution that you propose. It's not that they're being pushy, it's just that people need information in order to try to help you - at least try to give you the best answer that will actually help.

Get a mechanic, not some guy who knows engines, to do an inspection and start up, re inspection. Cheaper in the long run, way better than guessing.
