Great Forum!!I need and advice asap..

Hi Guys. Iam a newby in this activity, I got a 16Ft fiber boat , with 85 Jhonson . the motor is a 85ESL69E,,until last year the motor run marvellous., until start doing some rought idle.. and sputter..
I decided to take to a mechanic shop, . Wel the motor start not problems, ( for me so slow rpm iddleing..)but I feel quite rought.., I I push a throttle. the motor take a time to get the right RPM or response.. and then take off.. before that.. was not like that. I mean. when I pushed. the motor react intantly.... what coulbe the the prob?. Timming? sparkplugs?..
Sorry Iam not english spoken person jaja.
I reallu need and advice.. the summer en Canada ( toronto) is tooo short and we are runnning out of time..... any advice will be appreciate..

what did the mechanic do to the motor? what are the RPMS at idle and WOT? what kind of spark plugs do you have? is it still rough and sputter at idle?

yes, timing could be the problem .... but first we need to find out more about the boat and setup ...

your english is ok... at first i thought you were from my part of the world.. hahhaha im originally from Romania....

hummmmm WOT?? ( whats means>>?? jaja sorry...LOL ( with out trottle?? maybe??). not in iddle the motor goes under looow rpm... sparkplugs are the same than use for last two years. but not more than.. 20 hours on it...
what he did hummm Is really hard to explain.. he "said" some spring/shaft/ or something like that. that was soo dirty something realated with backwardor forwards.. i dunno. he said the motor has it really good compression. , and sound really good.. despite of old is it.. ( 1969)....
any clues..?
BTW yestrday I lunch it.. and fire up in my 4 intend.. but barely keep iddle. , repeat so loooow RMPs..
