Is there a good place to search for service bulletins on-line?

I have a Volvo Penta 5.7L Gi-B. I have been chasing a problem of fuel in the oil for several months. The latest theory is that the engine is running slightly cool, and the there is a service bulletin that states the thermostat housing has an opening that is too large. I am told that Volvo no longer makes the part that I need. I would like to verify that such a problem is known and there is a bulletin about it.

1. There is no place online to search Volvo service bulletins. Might want to visit your local VP dealer, he gets the bulletins when they are posted.

Who is giving you all this information, and where did they get it from?

Again, who and where did this wonderful information come from and why don't they share the info with you? Or is it just information you read from some other forum.

Got a Serial Number handy for your engine?

Re: Volvo Penta Service Bulletins

This information is coming from my VP authorized mechanic. It sounds plausable to me, I would just like to see the bulletin and also see if there are any others that I should know about. I've been paying a ton of money to other VP mechanics who think they solved the problem but never did. I want to be sure this time. I am hopeful that I found someone who can actually get it right. Trust and verify :)

I do not have the serial number handy but it definitly is a 2002 5.7L Gi-B.

if the mechanic knows about the bulletin, they obviously have it and should be okay with letting you read it.

i don't know how much more information you will be able to get from it though

it does sound plausible, the ecm reads the motor is running cool so it adds more fuel thinking the engine is still warming up. if the motor never reaches the optimal temp i.e. runs cool, the ecm will tell injectors to allow more fuel into the motor.

just a WAG but it sounds like a thermostat issue to me
