Like most boats, owners paint their boat name on the back. The 87 Larson I purchased has "Butch and Toot's" painted on the back (I wish to be neither - ;) )

I was in the area near a West Marine store and asked them what I could use to take off the paint without damaging the gel coat - the guy told me Easy off oven cleaner.

Is.......he...........right....?

I have taken at least 20 painted names off of boats in my time.

Used EZ Off on all but 2.

The 2 that I did not use it on, were boats that had a clear coat over the top of the paint, had to wet sand those 2.
