Can anyone tell me what type of hypoid oil I should put in the lower unit of a 1957 johnson 5 1/2 sea horse motor?

You can find it at your local marine dealer. They sell lots of this stuff. It typically is High Viscosity Lower Unit Lube for 1972 and older motors.

Just pick up some lower unit gear oil from a Johnnyrude dealer or get it cheaper at Walmart.

100% make ure its marine grade. do not use an equivelant weight reg gear oil or synthetic. Not designed for water contamination.
