Hello, New to Forum.....I have lurked a bit, but now I need Help....

I just bought an old Mont.Wards Fiberglass Car topper 12ft boat....It came with 3 Sea King 5hp engines......One is a One pull runner....the other 2 came as Parts Engines for the first.....I'd like to identify them all, then sell to someone into restoring, or keeping these old 2 strokers alive.....:)

Here are the numbers off each Engine.....Thanks in advance for any info....

Model....... Serial......
35GG-9015A 500609 THIS ONE RUNS.....
94GG9014A 355804 THIS ONE TURNS OVER
15GG-9015 387598 THIS ONE IS SEIZED

All of these say Montgomery Wards on the Number plate.....and appear to be similar in age with in a few years of each other....I also have a box of misc. parts that came with them.....?

First two engines are complete....
First one runs good,
Second turns over , but supposed to have rod knock...?
Third is not quite complete, and is Locked up.....?

Again many thanks in advance for info.....

Monkey Wards was nice enough to put the year in the model numbers. The two numbers before the GG are the year--reversed. In other words, 15GG reversed is 51 (for 1951). 94GG is 1949. 35GG is--well you get the picture.

If you try real hard and get real lucky, you might get about $75 for the lot. They are good motors all, but no one wants simplicity and reliability any more...must be new, shiny and easily disposable/replaceable, and high-priced or it can't be any good.

Thanks F R......I sent you a pm.......

Thanks tm.......

I wouldn't mind keeping them for this Boat.....It also came with a early 50's vintage boat trailer.....It is adjustable for use with different length boats...:p
I'll put money on the Boat being early to late 50's vintage too.....Haven't gotten that far yet......

I'm looking at a little 2 hp Evinrude...Its an early to mid 80's motor, just so I can send my 14 year old out without getting the phone call of " dad come get us, the boat won't run.......;)"

Again thanks, guys....
