Re: Do I have a good case to sue this insurance company? Any Lawyers in the hous
No, the Wife is not on my polices. She has a totally separate policy and drives a car in her name only. Besides that... we're separated.

I'm the last person on the planet that would sue, however my so called "Farmer's Agent" is about as useful as **ts on a bore hog.

This Farmers agent had to know the accidents weren't mine in the first place, yet she did NOTHING to stop/deal/explain the increased rates, so I canceled the insurance with Farmers.

She said absolutely nothing about my CLUE report. And from what I read about CLUE reports, many drivers know nothing about them until something like this happens.

Now what kind of agent is that? You would think she would be looking out for me and at least tell me about the CLUE report.

When I found the CLUE problem, my Farmers agent shuffled it off to another department. I didn't even get as much as an apology from her.

After learning that my rates would be increased even more through my new company, I went back to Farmers to see if they could re-instate to the latest quote ( I didn't like it, but it was $300+ cheaper)...

Well guess what... They wrote me back and said "Sure... we can re-instate for you"... AT ALMOST 3 TIMES HIGHER THAN MY PREVIOUSLY INCREASED RATE!

Now.. could they explain this? Nope.

Again.. she knew darn well I wasn't involved in the accidents. She has been my agent for YEARS. Why is she increasing it even more?

The damages I would pursue are the higher insurance rates that I shouldn't have to pay.
It was clearly Farmer's error. People sue for a heck of a lot less, and many of those cases aren't even worth arguing about.
I have to go out of my way to clean this mess up. I have to go through all the time and worry dealing with this.
How many certified and overnight letters did I send? How much time on the phone? How much extra money am I going to pay in higher premiums until I can get this fixed?

It all adds up. Everything has a dollar value to it as far as the courts are concerned.

Believe me... I hate greedy lawyers and frivolous suits just as many of you. But I think I'm entitled to something if this problem isn't fixed. It's a good bet I won't get anywhere with a lawsuit, but it would make me feel better.

All I can really do is contact the governing agencies of the insurance companies and lodge my complaints as some of you have suggested.

And (LOL) my first thought wasn't to sue... My first thought had something to do with (edit) well... I shouldn't mention here

I wasn't involved in the accidents, and nobody has the right to accuse me of them.
The papers I received from Farmers explaining I wasn't involved are now in the hands of the underwriting department of my new insurance company. I'll know in a few days what happens.

Thanks again guys....

H.
