Old Johnson Sea Horse

I have an old Johnson 2.5 Sea Horse that a friend gave me. Best I can tell the model and serial numbers are MD 20 and 403161. I found these numbers stamped into the engine after removing the bottom cover. Looking at the Johnson site, I only see HD 20 in year 1941-42. I'm pretty sure the stamp on this outboard is MD 20. What gives?

I would like to give my friend some money for the motor...what's it worth?

An MD-20 is a 1.5 HP produced sometime 1941-42.
Not worth much at all.

Give him what you think it's worth...it's worth $50 to $75 in my neck of the woods.
