Leaking Manifold ??

228 Merc 305 V8 raw water cooled If my manifolds were leaking not sure yet but think they were I was told to pull spark plugs and crank motor to get water out is this correct? Can I spray like wd-40 down the spark plug holes to relube the insides or?? where and what should i use to relube it? dont want to F the whole thing up!

If you have water leaking into open exhaust valves, you NEED to get the plugs out of it and crank it to remove it.

If the manifolds are truly leaking you'll need to fix it by replacing the riser gaskets (if they're the culprit) or by replacing the manifolds/risers.

Is this boat operated in salt water? If so and you leave it that way for more than a few days you 'll be replacing the whole engine.

Boat is not operated in salt water and I will remove plugs and crank should I spray WD-40 or something into the spark plug holes or just leave it alone?

If you have water in there I would spray it up good.
