Can someone tell me if this is a bad thing or is this supposed to happen?
There are two small holes at the top of each side of the Lower Unit.
I just ran my outboard and when I pulled it out of the water there was a milky oil oozing out each side of the top of the Lower Unit. Here are a couple pictures. I just bought a LU seal package to replace the prop seal. I'm hoping i already have the other seals I need just in case I need to replace another one.

Thanks for looking

Ran it in a barrel? That's just normal drain ooze.

Normal. It's unburned fuel and oil mixed with water and exhaust. As long as the 2 holes are the machined drain holes and not cracks etc.

Did you notice all the crappy goo floating on the water after you ran it in the barrel also? Same goo...

Is it light oil like the oil mixed with the fuel or is it more like the Hi Vis oil in the gear case. Does it smell like gear lube or like gasoline?

I dont like the look of it. If its gear oil then the vertical drive shaft seals have gone

It smells like gasoline. How does unburned fuel get down to the LU?
These outboards are weird.Oh well. I'll keep it as long as I can. Low Maintenence all the way.

They are very inneficient at burning fuel. The exhaust is the lower unit. That outboard will outlive you if you take care of it.
