Boat in Water Over Winter

I'm new but just spent the last two hours searching this site for the answer so I didn't waste anyones time. No luck. I have a houseboat in Eastern Washington State with twin 2000 Johnson 70 HP. The boat stays in the water all winter long. The lake (Lake Roosevelt Reservoir) does not freeze up but the temps get below freezing. My question is what different winterizing proceedures should I do and should I store the engines tilted up out of the water or down in it? So far I've stored the engines down but don't know what's best. Any suggestions?

Thank you. Nice to have a conformation of what I've been doing.

Just a question, do you have to worry about anything growing on the lower units (algie or anything) or is the water to cold.

Slimy stuff does grow on the lower units, but not that bad. I raise the motors and scrub it off every spring.
