force 125 hard time to start

hi everyone. im having stating issue with my engine it year 89 or 90 not sure . wen i start from ignition switch the stater have hard time to turn that flywheel so i tried strait with car boosting cable get it to spine mutch faster and stronger. so i wonder what is wrong ? i change the possiton of my ground on the engine block i will like to know where should be hook up that negative lead from battery ? last year i bring stater to mecanic he told me it very good and strong you have bad ground ... im not sure if everything is hook up right in that wiring. any help will be appreciate

If it spins faster with the booster cables off the car then the boat battery needs charged or changed.
