Here'e the Pros:
1. It's easy to haul
2. It is a fun boat to drive - handles great.
3. Easy on gas. This summer we spent 7 days at the lake and skied, tubed and wake boarded 6 to 7 hours a day and I spent a total of $300 on gas. Not bad.
4. Overall quality and build are quite good.
5. Lots of seating for a boat its' size.
6. Good top end. I've had it up to about 50 MPH.
7. Pulls 2 skiers no problem.
Cons.
1. Limited to 6 passengers. Makes it tough to take another family out with us.
2. It doesn't have a great hole shot, but that might be due to my 19P prop.
3. 2 cycles are 2 cycles. smoky, you have to buy oil and you have to be sure the oil system is working.
4. Because the boat is light it is not a great rough water boat.
My Dad bought this boat brand new in 1989 and we have had a lot of fun with it. It became mine this year after my Dad passed away and it has been great carrying on the tradition.
In my humble (but accurate) opinion - I think it's a good choice.
They are well built boats, just make sure all the wood is good in them, transom, stringers and floor. I had
two 16 footers that I used for rental boats, they held up well in very rough conditions.
