I have a 96 25 Hp. It cranks fine and will run for a good while. Once it gets warm and it is turned off it is hard to crank and it sputters or skips. I will let it cool off or just back off the throttle and idle along for a while and it will stop after 10 min or so most of the time. Other times I just turn it off and use the trolling motor and fish for a while, let it cool down and crank it up and go. I have replaced the power pack, any other thoughts as to what this could be?
thanks

Almost sounds like a coil, look at all the coils and see if you can see any cracks. You may have to do a spark check when the problem happens. I have also used a mister bottle with water and sprayed the coils when the engine is running to find a defective coli. Have you checked the plugs? Just thinkin.

I have checked the plugs. I have never herd of spraying the coils with a mister bottle? Will this show a spark? or cause it to start skipping?

If you have a crack in a coil the moisture will cause it to short to ground. It is not fulproof but I have found defective coils this way. What is the model number of your engine? I have another thought, but I want to narrow down the engine.

You have a charge coil and stator under the flywheel that could cause problems also. Check the coils and if they are OK maybe pull the flywheel and have a look. Just thinkin.
